Now that the new BLE Locking app has been out for a few months, and our Web Admin is a few weeks away from being released, it’s about time we talk about the different cool things that our mobile app and physical products are capable of.
Over the next few weeks, we will introduce our products, as well as the mobile app’s and web admin’s functionalities.
Let’s start from the product that’s the easiest to install – the BLE Locking Euro Cylinder.
This is something that can replace your current euro cylinder lock! The installation takes only a few minutes and there is no need for external help. What makes it so easy to use is that there are no cables that need to be connected – the package includes the BLE Locking Euro Cylinder, a QR code and your unique PIN code, an Allen key, a screw, and a lithium battery.
Once you have installed the cylinder according to the instructions that are found on our website, and have registered an account in the BLE Locking mobile app, you simply need to scan the QR code and you’re the owner of your new digital lock.
How to open your door via the app:
At first, when trying to turn the outside knob of the cylinder, it turns around freely, without locking/unlocking your door lock. Once you’re near the lock (Bluetooth is used for activating the cylinder), open the mobile app and tap the lock button. Once the button turns yellow, the cylinder is activated, and you can turn the knob to unlock/lock your door.
A feature that saves time when using your mobile phone for access is the NFC option. We have BLE Locking NFC tags available that you can connect to your smart lock. After sticking the tag to your door, you can effortlessly scan it with your phone to enter your premises.
How to open your door via PIN code:
There is a unique 6-digit PIN code included in the box that the cylinder came in. Simply tap the PIN code on the PIN pad to activate the cylinder (you will hear 1 longer beep when activated) and turn the knob to unlock/lock your door. The PIN option makes sure that even children or the elderly, who might not have mobile phones, can operate your door.
Note that the Euro cylinder’s PIN pad has buttons without actual numbers written on them, as the knob can be turned upside down and it still works. The top left button is always 1 and the bottom right button is always 6 – the numbers are ordered from left to right first and then from top to bottom. The safe part is that since there are no numbers on the PIN pad, smaller children don’t really know the actual code to your home (unless you teach them of course!). They just learn the physical combination that they need to use to enter the door and if someone ever asks them the code to their home, they don’t have the answer.
Now, while the PIN code that came with your cylinder might be hard to remember, there’s no need to worry! The code can easily be changed in the BLE Locking mobile app. You can choose whether the length of the PIN code is 4, 5 or 6 numbers and then create your own code.
In case you only want to use the mobile app for access, there’s an option to disable the PIN code in the app.
With our Euro Cylinder, digital keys can be shared to tenants or family members wherever you may be. This is especially good if you are renting out a place and your tenants arrive at a time where you already have something planned! You choose whether they receive unlimited access to your place or, e.g., access that lasts for a week.
