In this week’s post we will focus on the BLE Locking Standard module. Our module can be connected to a lot of different devices such as electric locks, motors that run gates and garage doors, but also electric scooters! That’s right, we have customers who are using our Standard modules on their scooters for an option to share them between colleagues. With this in mind, it seems that the possibilities for using our module are endless
Connect the module to a gate or a garage door
Let’s start by introducing what this device can do for you when connected to an electric gate or a garage door. First of all, after installing the module and adding it to the BLE Locking mobile app, you as an owner of the device have instant digital access. This means that when you open the app, your gate/garage door can be opened by tapping the lock button. It doesn’t mean that your existing remote controls wouldn’t work anymore, but you have an extra option for opening your gate or garage door. This is especially convenient when you keep the remote control in the car and need to open your gate for a courier while being at home – all you need is your mobile phone.
As we all know, the remote controls cost a lot of money. With our Standard module, once you have it installed, you can share as many digital keys as you need. At the moment the keys are free of charge, and all that the people that you invite have to do is create an account in the BLE Locking mobile app. Once that’s done, they have access to your premises. Access can be removed in a heartbeat if needed which provides reassurance, as opposed to remote controls that cannot be removed from a person instantly.
Rental businesses
The BLE Locking Standard module can digitize your office or front door as well. The module can be connected to an electric lock or an electric door strike, providing an option to keep using the physical keys and adding value with digital ones. When we take the rental businesses as an example then there’s a lot of hassle with exchanging keys constantly. With the BLE Locking solution, this problem will be eliminated. You decide for how long access rights are provided and you don’t need to take a few hours out of your precious time just to deliver keys to your tenants.
How to add value by installing the module to your office door
Depending on the nature of your business, you might have to constantly hand out physical keys and keycards to your employees or business partners. This could mean that you’re wasting money on creating new keys every day. Once you have our Standard module installed to your office door, these issues will be left in the past. All employees and business partners can have digital keys to your office that they can operate from the BLE Locking app.
I want the option to use digital keys, but also PIN codes/RFID cards
As mentioned earlier, what can’t the Standard module do? This is a question that we’re still figuring out, but it definitely can provide the option to use everything at once – digital keys, PIN codes and RFID cards.
For that, you simply need a Wiegand PIN/RFID card reader. The device can easily be connected to our Standard module for an option to use different access methods.
Our module will have to be connected to Wi-Fi in order to create user PIN codes and activate physical RFID cards, but other than that, it’s as simple as ever to set everything up.
