We’re excited to introduce two important updates: the ability to check and update the firmware of your modules (Standard 2 or PRO modules), and an improved WiFi setup process. Let’s take a closer look at these new features.
1. Firmware Update for Your Devices
Keeping your devices up to date with the latest firmware is now easier than ever before. With the new firmware update feature, once your module is connected to WiFi, the owner can now check the module’s firmware version and initiate updates directly from the admin portal.
To check and update your module’s firmware, simply log into our customer portal at https://admin.smartmasterkey.com. Navigate to the module’s detail view by clicking on the module name, and you will find the information you need, including the current firmware version and the option to update.
Having the latest firmware is important to take advantage of all the newest features.
2. Improved WiFi Setup in the Mobile App
For an even smoother experience, we’ve also enhanced the WiFi setup process in the mobile app. To take advantage of this improved feature, your module needs to be running firmware version 3.0 or higher.
Previously, owners could configure WiFi but wouldn’t receive any feedback about the network’s status. With the new update, the setup process is much more informative. Now, you’ll get real-time feedback on whether the WiFi network was found, how strong the signal is, and whether the module can connect to the external network via that WiFi.
Owners of devices with older firmware versions can still configure WiFi, but without the feedback provided by newer versions.
